I strongly prefer France as the food is far, far better, and the people are much more interesting.

I really cannot fathom anybody preferring Italian food to French food. I suspect that such people have never really had much exposure to French food.

Sorry to contradict you, but...

To be fair some people like a lot of starch - pasta, pizza - but I just don't. I prefer fat and meat.

Yes, there are some meaty-steaky dished in Italian cuisine, certainly. However, French food is considerably more 'in that style'.

Bruschetta leaves me cold..
