Precinct report:
I voted in Nameoki Township, Precinct 5 (Madison County). I was the 47th voter there, at close to 1:30 or so.

I took the usual Democratic ballot and voted for Biss for Governor, Quinn for AG, Kelly for IL-12 Congressman, wrote-in Chris Miller for Madison County Treasurer, YES on the 1-cent sales tax, and all the Dems uncontested.

If Ives wins, this goes from Likely D to Safe D.

I hope she wins. She would be a down ballot disaster on par with what happened in Virginia last year.

Was putting up signs a little while ago. Kennedy's signs are so yellow you can't even read his name. Like how do you mess that up even

The kennedy signs by me are green with shamrocks.  I like them.

Like, how can you even measure millennial turnout without an exit poll (none taken) or checking the voter roles?

Could be the expectation setting R's love to do, and D's love to fall for.

A Pritzker vs. Ives race would be horrible. I'd likely support Pritzker by default then, though I hope Rauner pulls it off. Nevertheless, I can't imagine Rauner gets less than 60% in the primary.

The expectations game has been all over the place.

Rauner also compared his primary challenge to Edgar, who won his second term primary 75-25.

But also Rauner said this on WGN radio...

I saw those, but he's got other ones where the sign is dark blue with the Kennedy/Joy in yellow. All you can read is the "for governor" from more than 5 ft away

Why I voted Quinn?

- Strong consumer rights advocate for Illinoisans.
- Stands up to 45’s divisive policies.
- expanded voting rights in Illinois.
- improved health care access for Illinoisans during his term.
- got marriage equality signed into law in 2013.

I wonder if there is some fear in the Rauner camp of traditional Republican primary voters in the Chicagoland (his base) picking up a Democratic ballot.

I wonder if there is some fear in the Rauner camp of traditional Republican primary voters in the Chicagoland (his base) picking up a Democratic ballot.

Seems they're trying to play strong expectations with the national press, but are raising alarm bells locally.

I saw on Capitol Fax that he's already sent out, five? six now? GOTV emails pleading with people to vote. And we still have hours before polls close. His robocalls also sound pretty desperate. One is a "Republican Voter Alert" with a siren blaring, and another is from Newt Gingrich because why not.

And that is *the* fear for the Rauner campaign. Either that suburban/cook county Republicans decide to vote in the Democratic primary for various reasons or more exciting contests, or that they just stay home. And if a majority of votes in the Republican primary come from outside of Chicago, that could spell very bad news for him.

Rooting for Ives (Rauner is terrible and deserves to go down badly, the general is Safe D either way, Ives’ floor (not her ceiling) isn’t lower than Rauner’s, etc.), Lipinski and Quinn.

Is your issue with Rauner that he's pro-choice, or...?

I guarantee you that Rauner will win re-nomination. Ives is not a serious candidate, and will not come close to winning the primary.

I mean... favored? Yeah for sure.

But guaranteed? You just have look at how Rauner and his campaign have been acting to see why that's not true.

I would think so but Rauner should be cautious that a VA redux happen. Like the VA primaries all the suspense and drama is on the Democratic side nobody is paying attention to the GOP side.

Complete hunch (and one I've had for the last couple of days based on no actual facts) but I think Pritzker will lose.

I feel I've become obsessed with Illinois State Politics, but I'd really find it hilarious to see how Governor Biss would sqaure off with Madigan.
