No, the number of voters who would have otherwise voted for a Republican but refused to vote for Romney because of his religion was almost definitely too small to have any real impact on the election.

Probably with some, but not enough to be statistically significant.

I can't see too many people who would be uncomfortable voting for a Mormon being comfortable voting for a black man.

There were swings in the Bible Belt toward Obama in 2012, Mississippi and Louisiana swung to the left in 2012.

This came entirely from black voters, who would never have voted for a Republican regardless of their religion.

Deep South whites certainly didn't swing towards Obama in 2012.

Where were those black voters in 2008?

I assume that black turnout was actually higher in those states in 2012, because if you look at exit polls, Obama did worse with whites in them compared to 2008.
