Is it too much to ask for Elisa Stefanik to get redistricted out.

At this point, the legislature needs to just reject both and do their own, and go ahead with 23-3 at this point.

So what is the expected outcome here? Maps struck down today, but appealed and put back in place tomorrow?

Personally I'd be pretty okay if we're in the "all the gerrymanders are killed" timeline.

Funny though how the GOP gerrymanders are getting away with it and the Dem ones are getting killed.

I think the NY map being struck down will be fair if the FL one is also being struck down.

Doesn't seem likely that the FL will be struck down at this point. GOP continues to win in every state, so ridiculous.

Wait did the Hochulmander really include NY-11 being a Biden district? Seeing Malitotakis go down would be fun.

https://decisions.courts.state.ny.us/ad3/Decisions/2023/CV-22-2265.pdf

Plaintiffs in Hoffman v. NYSIRC prevail on appeal; the appellate division thinks that the commission should submit new maps which go back to the legislature. On it goes to the Court of Appeals.

Do we expect it to succeed there? And if so, what's the next step, if any? Is that the last stop for this?

Will it be decided tomorrow or will this be a multi day event?

Wasserman keeps on wishcasting that Dems are gonna control themselves but it doesn't appear there's any reason for them to.

Yeah there's no way NY Leg Dems are going to keep a map that saves both Molinaro AND Maliotakis lol

Passed the commision 9-1. I know a lot of you don't want to believe it but the deal has been made and their is a 99% chance this is close to the final map (maybe minor changes within 2%).

Not sure what the commission has to do with the legislature rejecting/accepting it. Seems clear the legislature will likely reject this. Two completely different entities

Letting Lawler's district go and not make it more Dem would be completely idiotic. Him, Molinaro and Williams should be the top 3 targets out of the gate.

Are they going to vote on it though without seeing the Senate's map? I still can't believe that they'd let this map pass. I don't have a lot of faith in NY Dems but this really strains a lot of common sense here
