Depends on when/how they met. Like, is this a former student/teacher kind of thing? If so, yes, that's weird.

If they both met as adults and are happy together, then it's none of my business.

Could be, but honestly I try to avoid judging people based on this little information. But I tend to think that 30 year old are old enough that they know how to be a adult and not be manipulated.

Their life, it's their decision to make about the marriage plans. Personally, that age gap is a red flag and I'm lenient on age gaps if the couple can make it work against the odds.

The 30 year gap is the same from myself and my own mother.

No.  Consenting adults have a right to do as they please.  People that say that a person who marries someone half their age is a "creep" are, I think, actually jealous.  Jealousy often disguises itself as morality in personal matters.

If a marriage is:
consensual
between 2 adults
and has no power relation like employer-employee or teacher-student,

the ones who should accept or not are the members of the couple, and not the society.

They're both old enough to make their own choices, so I don't really care what they do.

Why? Doesn't a 30 year old woman have agency to make her own choices?

Yeah. The 60 year old in the equation is still a creep though.

Yeah. The 60 year old in the equation is still a creep though.

Why? Not every age gap in a relationship is predatory in nature. The heart is a funny thing.

No power imbalance there, unless there are other factors, and actually in this case the odds are that it would be the man who would be more vulnerable to exploitation as he got older.

It would raise the chance that the guy is creep, but not alone confirm it.

The woman in this case is 99% likely to be a gold digger though

It’s definitely weird, but I think 30 is old enough that she’s not obviously being taken advantage of. If she were in her early/mid-20s, it would be a different story, but 30? That’s a whole adult woman who can make her own decisions.

If a woman in her early to mid 20s can join the military, it's ridiculous to think she can't make her own decisions concerning marrying someone of any age.

I never said it should be illegal, just that the guy would be creepy.

Honestly, who the hell cares? If the relationship is consensual, it doesn’t matter if he’s a creep or if she’s a gold-digger, may both get what they want if that’s the case, but it’s not anyone else’s business either way.

Some years ago most people would say me kissing a man of my age was creepy, did gays ever stop dating because of this? Hell no.

I notice there’s the common social prejudice of looking at older people who have or even want sex as something disgusting and weird and that’s just stupid, the people saying that stuff will eventually age as well. If a 60 year old just wants to have sex with an adult 30 year old and it’s reciprocated, let them enjoy it for f**** sake.

At the age of 89, the pianist Mieczyslaw Horszowski (1892-1993) married a woman about 40 years younger than himself.  The marriage lasted until his death at 100.  Horszowski's last concert took place on Halloween 1991, when he was 99.

Here's a concert he gave at Carnegie Hall on April 23, 1990:

Not necessarily, so I voted No.

Generally speaking, as long as the relationship is completely consensual, it should be no else's business. Thrity is definitely old enough to know what you're doing. That might be different at twenty, even though it's still fine from a legal perspective. Whether such a relationship can last beyond a few years or whether personal differences are too much to overcome in the end is another question.

It's not always bad, but its a massive red flag. The maturity gap there is massive. Especially considering that they probably would have known eachother for at least half a decade.

People that say that a person who marries someone half their age is a "creep" are, I think, actually jealous.  Jealousy often disguises itself as morality in personal matters.
Lol. Not surprising that a take this out of touch would come from you.

Any guy who marries a woman young enough to be his daughter (or granddaughter) is automatically a creep in my book -and I treat him accordingly.
