Based on early results I don't think the voter suppression is being very effective!

It's certainly not deterring people from voting, but we have yet to see if the mail ballots will actually count or not.

Who knew Trump making noise about the USPS & essentially writing the Dems GOTV campaign 3 months before the election would lead to Dems getting out the vote??

What does that mean? Can this people vote in person of their mail ballot was rejected or did PA just lose 320k votes?
Most of these are duplicates so they'll get an absentee ballot anyway. This isn't really much of a story, it's Fox News sensationalized things to discredit mail voting.

Ironic as it completely refutes the claim that people are succeeding in using it to vote twice.

Take with a huge grain of salt, but 4chan claims to have discovered a exploit for the OR and WA mail balloting systems:

Mail ballots are intended to be mailed. There are dozens of post offices in Harris County. Or a voter can go to in-person voting, surrender their mail ballot and vote in person.

There is no reason to have more than one location for in-person return of ballots -essentially the same place that you mail your ballots to.

Garbage. Pure unadulterated garbage. Even by your profound lack of logic and general inability to engage in critical thinking, this is garbage.

That's the Prelude. Here's the details. Mail-in ballots as you call them do not need to be mailed in. I'm going to be dropping mine off in person at the Board of Elections because I am fortunate enough that it is not terribly far from a location I have to be at multiple times a week for one of my kids sporting events. Your silliness fails to comprehend that the ballot drop-off boxes are being used. This is not a matter of getting rid of them because Jim text decided in his infinite Collective weirdo reasoning that dropping them off in any other way than u.s. mail is somehow required.

 But we do have them, Jim. Which brings back to the same question as to why it is remotely not violative of equal protection, or let's be frank just out-and-out blatant attempt to depress voting in Democratic areas, by giving the same opportunity to a county with 169 residents to one with five and a half million. So you would say that it would be equally fair to have the same number of polling places Per County regardless of population as well?
Would you prefer "by mail" rather than "mail-in"?

Texas distinguishes between early voting and election day voting. Early voting is divided by in-person voting and by-mail voting. Most early-voting is in-person (in Harris County 88% so far, but it will increase since many mail voters return their ballot as soon as they receive it),

Under Texas statute, by mail ballots may be returned by:

(1) USPS mail;
(2) Courier or contract carrier;
(3) In-person on election day to the early voting clerk.

Number (3) is intended for those who are concerned that their mail-in ballot won't be postmarked in time. It is similar to those who drive to the downtown post office on April 15 to file their taxes.

Earlier this year, Governor Abbott added a week to the early-voting period and also permitted (3) to be used throughout the early-voting period. Since mail ballots can be returned by mail, it hardly matters that there is one location in a county for returning a by-mail ballot in person. There are more election clerks at this location in Harris County than in Loving County.

What is the "board of elections" you refer to? You don't appear to be from Texas. Are you from Ohio?

I have seen absolutely nothing about it from reputable ElectionTwitter people, which makes me think it's nothing much.

Looks like a call out for Trumpists to steal the election under the guise of "exposing flaws" because Dems don't need to change votes in order to win either of those states.

Reading this thread is sad.  An entire major political party has debased itself to promoting Russian conspiracy theories and the goals of the Russian government while at the same time trying to keep fellow Americans from voting.  The GOP is treasonous.

LOL, Charlie Kirk was suspended from Twitter for lying about the Pennsylvania issue as being about duplicate ballots, not ballot requests.

He elides terms like this all the time to stir up outrage, but now it’s too close to the election for Twitter to tolerate his shenanigans.

I take it all with a little salt, but it seems plausible.

Short version: They're counting on an early surge in votes that will put Trump ahead in key swing states, at which point Trump will declare victory from the Oval Office in a nationally televised address.

The horrifying but hilarious part: they don't understand how vote counting and early returns work, and their planned-for lead likely won't materialize on their timeframe.

Or to put it another way, Donald Trump is likely planning a coup, but it stands a very high chance of failing to even start because he's an idiot surrounded by idiots. (What to do if he does try this is a whole different and very fraught discussion - one that hopefully Democratic leadership is already well-prepared for.)

Senator Moore approves.

Strangely, I do have enough faith in the media that, if Trump were to try this, even they'd probably write it off as "Trump campaign is claiming... although there's no reason to believe them at this point." Fox might hedge a little more with a "maybe they're seeing something we aren't," but the media has never had their calls align with candidate announcements regardless of the candidates.

lol, Biden's going to have well over 300+ electoral votes locked up on election night. This was never going to work.

This isn't going to work unless the election is remarkably close in like one deciding state...

Right? Like I don't get this line of thinking? Just because Trump "declares victory" doesn't mean jack sh!t. If the AP ain't called it, or any of the networks, then Trump can say whatever he wants. Doesn't make it true or accurate.

This is exactly what will happen. And there will be very little push back.

He’ll declare early victory and immediately begin trying to disqualify mail-in ballots. The courts will back him.

No. He cannot disqualify mail-in ballots; is he going to sue the state and claim there is fraud with mail-in ballots, so therefore they can't count? The courts won't back him up on that unless it's in some ruby-red state with GOP trifectas.
