When people say "How can anyone think Joe Biden isn't favored in Georgia?!" ^^^

At least it's a more detailed explanation than simply "Kemp voter suppression".

That's all I want!

I suspect the Georgia software update is a fix for this bug that was reported a few days ago:

Wasn't Georgia supposed to go all paper? What happened to that?

No, it's a combination touchscreen/paper system.  You enter your choices on a touchscreen, then it prints a ballot that you can check, and on the way out of the polling station you drop it into a box with an optical scanner.  This records the vote and preserves the paper ballots in case they're needed for a recount or audit.  I voted this way in the primary and liked it, but am voting absentee now (ballots just arrived today, in fact).

Actually it would be...preclearance just means Bill Barr's DOJ would have to approve it. Gee I wonder what they would do.

But they would have been subject to litigation saying that they did not act in conformance with the law. Big difference.

Tweet I can't even quote because I haven't made enough posts

Yeah, it's such a mystery. No one could ever figure out what caused it.

This is why you should vote in person.

This BS going down in NC is insane.  Biden campaign needs to be on it.  Mail out clear instructions to every home in the state telling them

A) How to check if their ballot has been accepted
B) VOTE IN PERSON if your ballot didn't count.

Even if you voted, you're not done yet.  Sorry but that's just how it is.

NC has a Democratic governor (Roy Cooper) and a Democratic secretary of state (Elaine Marshall) so what's their excuse?  Roy Cooper's office ought to be flooded with phone calls demanding an explanation.

This has been debunked.

The actual rejection rate throughout NC is about 3%.

It's not all bad though, votes already cast or received in the next two days without a witness signature will still be counted. Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch wanted to require those to be recast.

Wonder if this will impact other states. Minnesota waived the signature requirement but that was different, state officials wanted to and the Republicans' lawsuit to reinstate was shot down. In SC the state still wanted it and the Democrats sued to waive it.

It's literally in the same thread:

Basically the Twitter OP is saying there's issues here but claiming 11% of all mail ballots in NC have been rejected is incorrect sensationalism and that's not even the case in Guilford County.

I honestly wouldn't vote by mail at this point.  The Republicans are clearly trying to get all these new rules and regulations written so they can ex-post-facto invalidate votes already cast or votes of people who aren't keeping up with the ever-changing requirements for your vote to be counted.

Just vote early, in-person.  Don't let the Republicans get away with it.

The good news is that the South Carolina case indicates that Roberts and Kavanaugh aren't willing to invalidate votes already cast...although who knows about Republican hack state Supreme Courts.

I still dropped off my ballot in person although I received it in the mail but two weeks before election day Minnesota will mix in all mailed ballots with in person ones. They only keep them separate now in case someone wants to change their vote.

Don't you have to vote by mail because there's no other way?
