This is an excellent example of why a free and active press is essential to a functioning democracy.  The publicity generated by the reporting of the removals is undoubtedly why they've been suspended.  Without it, they would have quietly continued.

It's also why we should be glad that DeJoy and Trump are being so brazen about this whole gambit, it offers the opportunity to mitigate everything they are doing as they are doing it as best as possible. If this were to have been kept a secret somehow it would be a whole lot worse.

Yeah, but how long before Republicans get a competent fascist in the White House?

Warren is still the best Democrat in Washington.

This:

If the official Postal Service of a country gets deliberately sabotaged to win Trump’s re-election, then the postal voters should be able to drop off their ballots at every FedEx, DHL, UPS, GLS etc. store in the US for delivery !

We should trust private corporations to do basic government functions such as delivering election ballots with people's votes in them! The US really is a dystopian hellscape.

Whichever way we got here, talking about Bernie Sanders does not matter right now. There are actual pressing issues to deal with.

Except they can't:

Exclusive: UPS, FedEx warn they cannot carry ballots like U.S. Postal Service

We're a politics discussion board--discussing stuff like this is precisely why we all spend our time here.

And this matters because it's one more illustration of how lefty absolutists (Sanders) keep screwing our democracy over.

Let's be real though; in order for this suppression effort to be successful, the election would have to narrow a bit and they would need to affect Democratic ballots at a far higher rate than Republican ballots. We should obviously be concerned, but the concern trolling that this will swing the election 10 points in Trump's favor is kinda BS

Sure, but it's easy to imagine these actions robbing Democrats of a Senate majority.

How? CO and AZ will prolly flip regardless, and NC and ME have Ds as the party in power at the statewide level. This just makes Susan Collins look even more stupid for saying she's "dissapointed and dismayed" about American Democracy crumbling

The entire article seems like it's speculating, without evidence--"believed to be"--that it's Sanders. But of course The Hill is garbage and of course the usual suspects will foam at the mouth at any mention of Sanders name because MUH LEFTISTS and all.

Well if you want to find something to attack Sanders for, it's not this:

This will automatically happen by virtue of the large partisan gap between voting in-person and voting by mail

For this to have credence, you have to believe that Obama was attempting to pack the BOG in an attempt to privatize the USPS, which...man, come on.  Do I really have to argue that Obama wasn't trying to privatize the postal service?  Regardless, I'm not sure keeping the BOG empty for years on end so Mitch McConnell could fill every vacancy with a Trump sycophant was the smart alternative.

Pretty typical for Sanders and the other purists that their actions eventually lead to an outcome that benefits Republicans.

Yes, because privatizing the postal service (leaving nobody eligible to handle mail ballots) is a MUCH better option.

THANK YOU SH!TTY TEENYBOPPER MUSICIAN!

Proving that while her music is almost as bad as Kanye's, Taylor Swift is still a more useful and better person. Since she speaking about this means people who wouldn't listen otherwise will.

That hill article was literally written by the heritage foundation lmao. Also the actions Sanders took were supported by the postal workers union and, for some of the nominees, civil rights leaders.

I was neutral in the whole Swift versus West war for awhile, but the choice couldn't be easier after these past few years.

Taylor Swift is a 30-year old woman from a fairly educated part of Pennsylvania and whose life experiences are definitely more comparable to someone with a college degree and would most certainly have one if she didn't blow up and lived a normal life.

Why wouldn't she be expected to oppose Trump?

As someone growing up in the early-mid 2000s, I'd take todays teenybopper music over that generation without question. Swift included

Reading? It's fundamental, but it isn't known as a hub of college educated elites... considering the city itself is one of the least-educated areas of Pennsylvania with high high school dropout rates. Even West Reading has 10% fewer bachelor's-educated as a percent of its population than Pennsylvania as a whole. Berks County is nothing like Delco or Montco. Absolutely silly.

Wyomissing. Over 50% of residents have a bachelor's degree. Almost a quarter have a master's.

"Look What You Made Me Do" is one of the worst songs I've ever heard.
