Republicans will never ever win the Popular Vote again in this Country - Period.

Uh.. no...

Even with Clinton winning the popular vote this year, the Republicans won the popular house of representatives vote!

Also with no electoral college, the campaign would have been different. Trump could have won the popular vote in a popular vote campaign. But who knows though.

Montana is unanimous for Trump. Trump is now two electoral votes away from being elected.

Think FSE will be a candidate for any party in 2020 due to getting the Electoral Vote?

Maybe she'll run in the Democrat primaries and drop out after Iowa.

See the Greens or Peace and Freedom being interested maybe. It'd be big for the Greens to run her especially after Stein's folly over the recount.

I think this argument had more merit in Bush/Gore. 2.8 million votes is a lot to make up. Granted, we'll never know for sure.

Secretary of State‏@secstatewa
@secstatewa Wyman will enforce "faithless" elector law, which provides for civil penalty of up to $1,000. Working w/ @AGOWA on process.

lol wow

Good. It is high time that one of these laws was tested in court.

True, but Trump probably wouldn't have been as hard line on illegal immigration, and probably would have campaigned some on the coasts.

But who knows.

I agree that Bush v Gore, in a popular vote campaign, Bush could have well won that.

Nobody got a majority in the race for chair, so this'll take a little longer.

At this rate, we'll be in the 2020 election before Texas casts its votes.

It would be amusing, if TX couldn't successfully convene its EC, and the race gets thrown to the House! Smiley

Or, perhaps they are procrastinating, in order to cast their votes during the Prime Time TV slot?!? Smiley

In that case, The election is treated as if TX didn't exist (so only 500/2 = 250 EVs needed to win), and Trump would win 268-228, no congressional vote needed.

I'm not 100% sure about that:
