Md, my home state.  We are the state that have probably most consistantly voted Democrat.

Minnesota has the longest stretch of voting for the Democrat... but taking other things into account I went with Rhode Island.

I said Massachusetts, but Hawaii is rather Democratic despite voting Republican at times. The only times Hawaii votes GOP are for incumbents.

No way. John Kerry only won 56% there. You guys have some pretty Republican areas (Eastern Shore and Western Panhandle). Massachusetts has a 10/10 Democratic House delegation and has voted stronger Dem in the Presidential race since 1996.

I want to say MA, but the fact that this is their first Dem governor in a long long time I am hesitant.  I think I am going to say top to bottom it might be Arkansas surprisingly

I was going to say Rhode Island, but then I remembered that they have a Republican Governor.

Massachusetts. Republicans hold at least one state-wide or federal office in all the others

Massachusetts, today. Before 2000, I would have voted West Virginia. Do Republicans hold a statewide elected office there?

No way.  11 years with a GOP governor, two times for the GOP in a Presidential year, Arkansas is not even in the top 10.

Secretary of State Betty Ireland, elected in 2004.  However, she only won because her opponent was over 80 and seemed to be senile (If I recall) and the race was still very close, something like a 51%-49% Ireland victory.

I personally think MA is the most Dem state. VT is quite liberal but I personally think that the VT Progressive Party and Green Party should merge. The Greens could actually be a major player in VT (no kidding!). Smiley

Massachusetts, most definitely.  Republicans control 5 of 40 seats in the State Senate, and 19 of 160 in the State House (IIRC).

The kicker is that had Republicans won every seat they contested in 2006, Democrats would still control a majority in the State House, State Senate, and control a majority of the statewide elected offices.

I wish I could be creative by saying something other than Massachusetts, but I'd be kidding myself.
