Obviously Beshear, considering he carried it against Strong Candidate™  Whitney Westerfield. Clearly Beshear's map where he won by a 0.2% landslide is completely replicable in 2019! Smiley Smiley Smiley

Even if Beshear won, he would still lose Pike Co KY.

Likely R, but dems did just pick up a few countywide offices by large margins.

Bershar can win Pike Co. if he wears flannel while giving speech on the back of pick up truck at strip mall parking lot. Sufficient amounts of hay will be required in bed of pick up truck in order to convey his authenticity to inauthentic voters who themselve fake their personas on facebook. No doubt....many Kentuckians fondly recall his father at local punkin patch events and sock hops and frequently talk glowingly of said olden days of Bershars junta government which bought much beloved KYConnect health care system and an end to liquor blue laws.

Bevin by an unimpressive 60-40 margin.

He'll do better in Pike County than he did the first time even as he wins by a closer margin.

btw speaking about Pike who do you think would win Elliot in a Bevin vs Rocky Adkins matchup. Reminder that Adkins actually represents Elliot in the state house so like most of the people there already know him.

Bevin's magic (R) surely won't matter because he's *gasp* unpopular in rural KY! So Titanium Beshear. Smiley

Adkins in that case. But I doubt he’d win any counties outside his House district aside from Franklin, Fayette and Jefferson

He would definitely win Rowan County, which is also part of his District, and also a place that just removed a Republican County Clerk incumbent for their Democratic challenger.

Apparently, Rocky Adkins has been unopposed in all but 1 election cycle since 1996.
His current District consists of Elliott, Rowan, and Lewis Counties.

The only cycle where he had an opponent since then was in 2016:

https://www.ourcampaigns.com/RaceDetail.html?RaceID=811179

That year was the same year when Trump became the 1st ever Republican presidential candidate to win Elliott County, with a shockingly large 44 point margin. On the same ballot, Rocky Adkins won the County by even more than Trump did.

Yeah, if he was able to win Elliot 86-14 in 2016, then clearly he'd win it very easily in 2019 as the Democratic nominee for Governor.

There's a special election for Kentucky Senate there today. It looks like it would be an easy Democratic hold, but Republican gerrymandering endangers it.

My prediction is that Wheeler wins 55-45 and wins Pike Co by around the same margin. I'd love to be wrong though.

Some exciting news for Pike County:

Quote
Toyota will partner with developers of a proposed 700-acre solar farm on a Pike County strip mine, marking the “final step” in what would be the largest solar energy project in the state by a magnitude of ten.

https://www.kentucky.com/news/state/kentucky/article227295924.html

Foreigners building solar panels on an abandoned strip mine.  Nice troll job with the "final step" too.

Happy days are here again....
