Florida votes to the right of the popular vote. It was .5 right of the popular vote in 2000. Obama won by 7 nationally in 2008,but Florida was within 3.
Presumably due to Joe Lieberman energizing the Jewish vote in Florida and due to George W. Bush not campaigning as much there as he should have.

Still, Gore would have been better served picking Bob Graham as his VP. After all, unlike Joe Lieberman, Bob Graham has actually won five statewide elections in Florida by 2000!

Gore was an unusually good fit for Northeastern retirees in South Florida. 
Not so much Gore as Lieberman, if you ask me. Still, Graham would have been better.
