The national debt is completely meaningless. There are lots of drawbacks to excessive spending, like inflation, but the debt doesn't matter. Nobody's coming to collect the bill. It's doesn't work the same way as personal debt.

Climate change is an existential threat to humanity.

Climate change is a bigger threat to the world, but the national debt is a threat to the relative standing of the US.

Climate change isn't going to be good for the budget either.

Climate change is a existential threat to the human species and all other walks of life. It transcends nationality.

I take offense to have the national debt uttered in this poll. Only one of the answers is eradicating the way of life on America and across the globe.

Amen.

Socialists and mainstream Liberals ought to work together more often in our politics. We could get a lot more done.

Do you seriously think that just because debt collectors aren't going to come break our collective kneecaps, that means the national debt doesn't mean anything at all? You do realize we make payments on that debt, right? How many credit downgrades should we be expected to ignore?

National Debt. It's outrageous.

https://www.usdebtclock.org/

You guys are at $34 trillion. Last time I checked (not long ago) that website, the debt was at $30 Trillion.

This chart shows the debt ceiling in the United States from 1981 to 2023 (in trillion U.S. dollars). (Statista)

Climate change, if it really causes a sea level change, only affects the ultra wealthy in Miami Beach.
