Wouldn't the Senators have a week to vote anyway?

This is another problem. A week is long enough of a time period in the real world, but in a world where we act as though months are years for election purposes, we are effectively leaving the vote open from January 1st to April 1st, and having some Senators "not have the time to make it in to vote"

Yeah, but we need to make some concessions for Senators to fit voting into their schedules. With that said, a week is rather ridiculous, as are the activity levels of the Senators these days.
