In a close election, the Populist ticket, a unity ticket between the progressive and reactionary factions of party, was able to combine the South and Rust Belt to win over the Moderate Establishment ticket of Jerry and war hero General Mung Beans.


TNF (Populist-Kentucky)/Cathcon (Populist-Michigan) 275 electoral votes
Jerry (Moderate Establishment-Arkansas)/General Mung Beans (Moderate Establishment-California) 263 electoral votes

Ideological incoherence on the Republican side combined with TNF's ability to appeal to blue collar and rural voters and Windjammer's success in keeping (most of) New England and the North-East in line for the Dems resulted in a narrow victory for the Democratic ticket.

Former Governor Goldwater (R-WA)/Governor Cathcon (R-MI) 238
