Long Island Democrat Jackie Gordon is the likely Democratic nominee. She is a military veteran and Babylon Town Councilwoman.

Assemblyman Mike LiPetri is a young law and order upstart who is mounting a challenge to GOP-favored Andrew Garbarino, whom retiring Rep. Pete King endorsed.

Who would win?

Mike LiPetri (Republican) 49%
Jackie Gordon (Democratic) 49%

Too Close To Call

Would NY-02 be eliminated in 2022? A lot of people are leaving LI and I wonder if Democrats would want to eliminate this seat or do something with it.

This is still a lean Republican seat, so the Republican

Don't buy that CaNdIdAtE QuAlItY will swing the race.

I think this seat is a few years away from possibly flipping, so LiPetri.

If LiPetri wins in November, you can guarantee he will be on the NY GOP shortlists for Senate, governor, Attorney General.

The man has swag that can appeal to people.

Long Island is really weird, we have no idea where this seat will trend in the next few years. So far it looks like it has trended R recently but 2018 gubernatorial and even congressional show the trend may not have been super strong.

LiPetri easily. This seat is more winnable for Democrats than NY-01, but it's not going to trend heavily Democratic anytime soon.
