This race probably tilts D at this point. Governor Pat Quinn is signing marriage equality into law today and he's providing statewide aid to disaster areas from the tornado.

Plus I wouldn't exactly continue to rely on one poll that occurred exactly a year ago. Only Dillard and Rutherford were polled against Quinn and they were only up by a few points on him. This is deep blue Illinois we're talking about and I just don't see those polled match-ups being identical today.

Jesse White, Sheila Simon and Paul Vallas are base voters anyways. Should people not like Quinn, they are gonna vote for him on party ID alone based on above candidates.

2016 should be good Kwame Raoul or Mike Quigley can make a run at Mark Kirk. So would Lisa Madigan as well.

Durbin who has downstate appeal, will start campaigning for Quinn.

Like that's any big surprise.

I hope Rutherford can pull this out, Quinn is awful but Brady won't win.
Exactly.

Interestingly Rauner has blown out the contribution caps by giving himself $500,000 and collecting 2 other $250,000 contributions.  This gets rid of the caps for everybody else too.  Will be interesting to see if any of the GOP candidates will find somebody to bankroll their campaign.  Regular Dem contributors such as unions are now also free to dump as much $$$$ as they want into Quinn too.
This could be an interesting free for all.

I find this hilarious. It has gotten to the point where the Dems don't even have to try here. ILGOP will continue to fumble over itself and hand these positions to the Democrats on a silver platter. Brady doesn't stand a chance.

They have a hard time choosing the right candidates cause they don't hold any constitutional office except Topinka for controller and Kirk for senate. And they have potentially being swept out of those with Sheila Simon and Lisa Madigan.

Term limits question in Illinois: I'm not going to be surprised if this constitutional amendment passes just to get rid of folks like Quinn, Madigan (Mike), and others.

The following down-ballot statewide offices in Illinois for 2014:
Secretary of State: Jesse White (D) winning again for a 5th and (hopefully) final term
State Attorney General: Lisa Madigan (D) wins her 4th term in another landslide margin (could she crack 80 percent next year?). I mean she's gotta be thinking about 2018 and moving into the Executive Mansion in Springfield if she's got gubernatorial aspirations.
State Comptroller: Judy Barr Topinka (R) wins reelection, but that's as far she's going in higher statewide office.
State Treasurer: all depends on what happens on both Dem and GOP nominees.

I know Lisa wants the gov, but it will benefit Hilary appeal to women, should she run for Senste. Vallas and Bill Daley wants the gov after Quinn. If Hilary wants Lisa to run for Senate, she won't pass on it.
