Be prepared for all of the "hot takes" from conservatives and the media of how NY14 is now suddenly "competitive"

Trump has already tweeted about it, said that Crowley would have won if he had been nice to him.

it makes me miss 2013-2014 Trump when he was most famous for being a twitter idiot.

Kasie Hunt was on MSNBC saying this could be problematic for the blue wave because flyover country won't like this hard left socialist that wants to abolish ICE.

Because y'know people in Missouri and Iowa are casting their ballots with a random lady from New York City in mind. Smiley

The biggest blind spot in political media is the assumption everyone pays the same amount of attention they do

This forum is even worse than the media in that regard though.

Oh good God, he now believes he has power over Democratic voters.

Oscasio-Cortez with this win tonight, becomes the first DSA Member since the 1990's to be elected to the US  Congress.

Unbelievably excited about what she could potentially bring to the future of The Democratic Party.

She will also become the youngest woman to ever be elected to congress.

There is a part of this country that still gives me hope in light of all of the recent atrocities. Whether or not we have enough time to recover remains to be seen.

We got maps!

Race didn't really play much of a factor in how people voted, from the looks of it.

It's time for a second update to my amazing senate primary turnout map. In Utah, unfortunately Jenny Wilson did not appear on the ballot, so we have to get creative. With two-thirds of the vote currently reporting, Dems have cast 11,265 votes in CD-1. 11,265 is 67% of 16,814. Multiply that by the number of CDs in the state (4) to get a rough statewide turnout figure of 67,256. For the GOP, we can obviously use the statewide Romney v Kennedy turnout of 284,113. This comes out to 81% of the primary vote going to the GOP. As this is right on the cusp of the 80s and some ballots in the state will not be counted tonight since it is a VBM state, I'll revisit the calculation later in the week and update the map if necessary.

I am shocked, shocked that the mentally unstable felon with ties to Julian Assange didn't do better against a well-regarded incumbent.

What did Crowley do that pissed people off?

Didn't really live in the district, kids go to school in NOVA, was about as establishmenty as establishment politicians can get, skipped a debate and got hammered for it, was a stereotypical boring machine white guy politician in an 18% white district, AOC was a great challenger, yada yada yada.

Didn't just duck a debate, but sent a minor-level pol supporting him as a surrogate.

Remember, in his worldview, everything, always, is only about him.

And that's primarily why he sucks so hard as a president and a person.

John Warren actually ended up being pretty competitive in SC.    McMaster only ahead 22k votes.

If there was ever an example of just how powerful and influential Greenville is in SC elections, this was it:

Democrat turnout in Oklahoma was up 166% from 2014, and the GOP beat them by just 6% overall

how is spending your own money any different than raising money from other people/organizations?
