What did Crowley do that pissed people off?

Didn't really live in the district, kids go to school in NOVA, was about as establishmenty as establishment politicians can get, skipped a debate and got hammered for it, was a stereotypical boring machine white guy politician in an 18% white district, AOC was a great challenger, yada yada yada.

Cortez for governor in the 2030s?

Joe Crowley.

I wonder who becomes the Queens Democratic Party boss?

He is the head of the QDP.

His political mentor, Thomas Manton, a blue-collar Irish city ethnic, gave him the seat in 1998.

On other related news, turnout in Oklahoma was insane for Democrats.

Tbf Oklahoma has plenty of zombie registered Democrats who are too lazy to switch their registration.

Can't it still be compared to previous primaries though?

John Warren actually ended up being pretty competitive in SC.    McMaster only ahead 22k votes.

NY-23 is definitely a longer shot for Democrats, but it's worth noting that the Democratic primary there is one of the tightest of the night: Tracy Mitrano has a 70 vote lead over Max Della Pia with 77% in.

Pretty much everyone agreed Grimm was ahead a few weeks ago. A well respected independent pollster put him ahead by double digits. Then he loses by 30 points.

Clearly there are areas of the country where Trump's endorsement still has significant heft. Of course, it's only natural Staten Island would be one of them.

A.) I'm proving bronz wrong since I live in NJ 11 and am voting whatever scumbag Republitrash wants to succeed Frelinghuysen.

B.) STOP RESPONDING TO BRONZ. He is not a serious person, he's a troll, and he wants a rise out of people and make them agitated. He's trolling extra hard tonight cuz it's an important night. Put him on ignore and stop interacting with him because you'll end up embarrassing yourself and giving me second hand embarrassment.

This is a very strange way of endorsing Jay Webber, but I'll take it.

F**k. Fixing that oops.

Democratic Primary Runoff
Map
Percent
Candidate
Votes
Winner

58.6%
David Baria
41,495

41.4%
Howard Sherman
29,292

Baria was outspent by this man by over $500,000, IIRC. Just because you're married to a star doesn't mean you're entitled a win.

It's been speculated elsewhere, but can Grimm run as the Conservative?

Yes. But will he? Probably not considering he was kinda cordial tonight.

It's very weird that Cantor was expected to take over Speaker for Boehner,  and then lost his primary...and now the same thing happened to Crowley when he was (kind of) expected to take over for Pelosi.

There wasn't a competitive primary in 2014. In 2010 the Democrats outvoted the Republicans, then lost 60-40. So not really.
