I hope the President and Dems continue to embrace the Scumbagger movement

Yes, physical and spiritual fitness, books, socialized medicine, and healthy food.  I see how this would be an anathema to Republican right wingers.

So according to Phil some clowns who dress up in 18th century garb and hold up poorly spelled signs about how Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya and "OMG BIG GUBMIT BAD WE HATE SOCIALISM!" are speaking for the people but people upset about 1% of the population controlling a far disproportionate amount of the wealth and lack of attention to people and instead to corporations from government are elitist scumbags.

Comparing Occupy Wall Street to the Tea Party is asinine. What is most disgusting about the Tea Party is not necessarily their views, but how their protests consist of sitting in a folding chair in front of the White House. That's not a protest; that's a vacation!

OWS has a completely different organizational structure, one that tries to abide by actual principles. I have no doubt that order will come from their chaos, whereas chaos comes from order with so-called "astroturf". I don't care about whether they are "idiots" or not; their methods are just.

On top of that, how unthinkable would a protest like this have been weeks before? That some in this thread declare "[p]olitical protests accomplish little beyond dragging in flocks or starry-eyed tourists" shows the burden of cynicism these protesters must carry.

OWS is growing on me. Yeah, it's pretty pointlessand some of the people behind it are certified idiots, but at least it's a good thing to see that the US isn't completely in the hands of the powers of darkness, and political action is always superior to political inactivity.

To paraphrase: "I'm a partisan hack incapable of taking anyone with whom I disagree seriously."

You'll be surprised at my attitudes towards the Tea Party. I still think it was a product of real anger towards the government, and more power to them if they cause change for change's sake. The problem is that they haven't, and what change they created was co-opted by the establishment.

Do you deny the conditions of the Tea Party protests were different from that of OWS? Tea Party protests didn't have police threatening to baton them or spray them with mace. Their organizational structure were built after the fact, unlike the General Assemblies popping up at the occupations.

Phil, for someone who denies that he treats politics as if it was a sports game, you don't seem to actually give a damn about anything related to OWS aside from making fun of them with random pictures.

I think I've addressed this already: I'm going to give those that give innocent Tea Party members a little dose of their own medicine especially after the classlessness recently displayed by the Scumbaggers.

And thanks for the lecture on how we ought not to make fun of a movement by posting random pictures. I'll be sure to remember that everytime a thread is posted mocking the Tea Party.

My friend interviewed a self proclaimed Maoist at my alma mater today. The enlightened man/woman claims that Stalin never killed millions of people/the figures are "made up" - http://www.youtube.com/user/TUOwl2009#p/u/0/uE2M7g_IWSE

Definitely an intellectual movement!

Why? For posting some tasteless video ridiculing a poor person?  Gentlemen, jeering at the poor is not admirable -  its like stamping on ants.  KP is pathetic.

Hey, I wasn't the one holding up the Tea Party as an intellectual movement. The burden is on the Invaders to prove that they aren't as bad. The masses wanted to label innocent people within the Tea Party as boneheaded barbarian racists? Ok. Now make sure movements on the left aren't as bad. Make sure your supporters don't occasionally say stupid things. Make sure your signs aren't misspelled, inaccurate, extreme and/or hateful.

And remember: this isn't about hating capitalism!

Uh, that sign refers to the Workers World Party, not the Democrats. Only people who support Democrats should be considered real members of the movement.

Opebo, my friend, I acknowledge that you have contributed a great deal in other areas but you really have jumped the shark. I think you need to take a little break and come back with a renewed sense of hilariousness.

This thread has become Keystone Phil's one-man, anecdote-fueled crusade against OWS in a quest for exacting revenge on the Tea Party-hating "masses."

Good show!

Yeah, he pretty obviously knows he's being disingenuous and doesn't care at all for seriously discussing the actual issues behind the OWS protests in the first place. I wish everyone would just stop responding and let him work out his contempt.

Ah, yes, "anecdote-fueled." Ignore the fact that what I have posted are from other sources (including respected journalistic sources). This is simply "anecdotal" because I posted it.

More breaking news: sympathizers of idiotic movement need a dictionary, learn the meaning of a word before using it.

Marokai, you're act is so precious. "I wish everyone would just stop responding..." as you go out of your way to respond to many of my posts. You're an obsessed person.

And don't lecture anyone on being disingenuous. This is what you get for labeling the Tea Party and like minded groups in a disingenuous way. What goes around, comes around.

Jumped the shark?  KP, hundreds of millions of people hate capitalism.  It is a common and mainstream political opinion and has been for generations.  And you accuse me of.. what exactly?

Um, I don't think that word means what you think it means...

No, I do know what it means...

"Based on personal observation, case study reports, or random investigations rather than systematic scientific evaluation: anecdotal evidence."

Considering my citation of multiple sources (not just a personal observation or random), I think you don't understand the meaning of the word.

My only mistake here was hoping that you'd cool it and actually discuss the differences between the Tea Party folks and the OWS folks, as well as the actual issues behind the protests. Apparently, whether or not there are legitimate or valid reasons to protests is entirely irrelevant to you.

Also, "this is what I get"? I don't sit here making fun of the tea party all day. I dislike the Tea Party for entirely different and much more serious reasons. For some reason you're completely blind to that.

I'll also point out that despite this place being overrun with left leaning and Liber-tard posters, it's refreshing to see 47% oppose the Invaders and their Ransom Note.
