Not looking, not very attractive, spend all my time at school + work, haven't met anyone particularly interesting, still in the closet, etc.

You take selfies, obviously you don't believe that.

How do you know that? On what do you base your assertion?

While I hesitate to voice support for anything smacking of red pill, Deus is right insofar that he's correctly diagnosed Simfan's problem as a lack of self confidence.

This problem is often compounded in religious-conservative circles since you are only supposed to date to find a spouse. This results in many folks taking flirting/early dating WAAAAYYY too seriously.

Simfan, you should practice talking to girls on a regular basis, which should help alleviate your conversation issues and give you a confidence boost. And seriously dude, give yourself an honest examination. You're well dressed, educated and belong to a religion that has more women than men. You're great spouse material.

Thankfully I'm not looking for a spouse right now and have no intention of doing so (I'm not that conservative), but you don't sound wrong. One might say I am a closeted heterosexual. I look forward to more advice from you, TJ, Cathcon, et al.

Hopefully you all realise that relationships are the one thing that as human beings, you should be 'doing.' I don't mean right this very instant, but loneliness sucks...

Well that cheered me up. Tongue

Wow this ended up a lot more serious than I thought it would be Sad None of you should lose hope! (apart from Deus, because PUA stuff is always ew) Don't think of yourself as undatable, don't idolise people and don't think you have to change yourself to a terrifying extent!

Excellent thread, A+!

You gays do the strangest things. A week or two ago I remember someone retelling me how this kid in his class had met a guy in a bar and by the end of the week was being flown out to LA to see the guy. I mean you just dive all in, so to speak. So involved, so fast.

As for the story, is this the Jewish boyfriend you referenced when you first requested to be unbanned? If so that's even more hilarious.

Oh, I remember that. Peverse.

Also that book you told me to read, "DAY BANG", was absolutely ridiculous. After that I read "DON'T BANG LATVIA", which was even sillier.

All the people I have the most chemistry with are women, and one's a Mormon and one's a lesbian. Plus also there are only four queer guys at my school who are my age or older (I have a policy of not being the dominant partner) and two are too close friends to date and they're all taken. Plus also I'm too afraid of ing it all up.

Sounds like you might be interested in women.

Don't get me wrong Sim, I'm not some decadent hedonist like our, err, friend here. I just try and keep all things casual so I don't have annoyances like arguments or drama or introducing people to relatives.

I can sympathise. If I had a girlfriend you can't imagine the lengths I'd go to conceal that from my family.

I graduated in 2013, so I started the year after you left. Small world. Smiley

No, but if you still need help on that subject, there's still plenty of literature out there.

Indeed, I took a look at his advice and it seems right on point:

this PUA thing is super weird. Beyond it being super y'know misogynistic and creepy, the vast majority of people can, err, talk to the opposite gender and *gasp* sleep with them without these dumb mind games.

That, and all those betas have a weird hang-up on things like "emotional fulfillment". What idiots, am I right? Everyone knows women are just lubricated holes that exist mostly for a man’s sexual pleasure.

You don't actually have to read all of those books if you want to get laid lol. I just posted that link in jest since you seemed to enjoy his other works.

I did?

But maybe talking about how happy I am in this particular thread isn't the most sensitive thing. Tongue

I enjoy the perks of being an attractive, young, single blonde woman.

I am 0/19 on getting a ticket when pulled over.
I haven't paid a bar tab since the Bush administration.
I have never had to call a cab or pay for a ride.
I have never had to lift heavy furniture or move out on my own.

There are probably more benefits that I don't even realize are benefits because I have never gone without them, why would I want to give it all up to watch television with some goober every night?

You are a woman? Welcome to the forum! I hope you can ignore the extreme creepiness and crass sexism of some of our specimens, and focus on the few good things about it (maps, mostly).

Thank you! I used to be a model of sorts, so I have an immunity to extreme creepiness and crass sexism.

Oh dear. This will not be fun for you. May God have mercy upon your soul... because this is the Atlas Forum. I can empathize, because I am "a black"-- by convention, the only one here.

Welcome. And good luck.

to touch on an issue that reared its head in this thread: I do not believe Atlas 'suffers' from a lack of women because of the attitudes of its male posters towards women, but rather the attitudes being aired is a product of a lack of women, of a "gentlemen's club" environment.  the idea that women are scanning the Forum and deciding not to register because of the content of discussions is patently absurd.

Also see this thread.

Lol, Atlas. I'd imagine that maybe treating women as normal human beings might be the most reasonable thing if you want to not look creepy.

Oh, come on. This is the Atlas. We are infamous for this. God knows how politicus managed for so long. Wink Personally I am hoping for a critical mass of diversity, of all kinds. I may not show it, but I don't enjoy being the only black person here. Tongue I mean, a black Republican? Come on. I'm not really representative of the demographic.

I don't think he's actually black. A Republican is one thing. But a hardline libertarian? That's just unheard of!
