Meh, neither of the nominees would be well-liked by their party. Gilmore is literately the most boring candidate that ran this cycle ever while Chafee would find it hard to appeal to the far left.
I'd suspect the GOP to support Gilmore, but they wouldn't become excited at all for him. Chafee would find it hard to keep the far-left in line. Either way, the incumbent will loose next cycle almost certainly.

If Chafee succeeds with keeping his party united...
