I should be getting ready for bed right now, but I think I'm going to stay up for another hour.  My alarm is set for 0620 so I can get ready for worship.  I want to leave by 0840 in the morning.  Tomorrow is going to be good day.  It's not a normal Sunday.  It is the first Sunday trying out a new congregation.

I received a major blessing on the way to On the Border this afternoon!  My dad asked me about my plans to move to Kenya, as far as timeline, what I plan to do.  He is very much in favor.  He has known about it for sometime, and I reminded him the day I got back from Kenya last week, but up until now he has been rather silent on it, so I was very encouraged to hear that he is asking me questions about it and not only encourages the move, but also encourages starting to learn the language as soon as possible.  He even encourages the timeline!

Those with an education do, but Swahili is the lingua franca of East Africa. Its got a simplified grammar (ie only two irregular verbs) and is pretty easy to learn. So Jeff should definitely learn it.

It's actually more Luo in Western Kenya where I will be as opposed to Kiswahili.

First weight goal has been met!  As of this morning, I have officially dropped into the 250's!  Now weighing in at 259.8!  That's a loss of 15.2 lbs since mid May!  Thank you, Lord!

Two irregular verbs. Like take/took in English. Swahili's this way because of some considerable Arabic influence, which has simplified the language somewhat.

I chose Jcp because of its proximity to where I'm living (only 12 miles, no interstate).  Plus, its the first one I thought of when I started applying last Tuesday.  It's not the closest job I've ever had, but its the one that makes the most sense economically.

We had a good discussion this evening of the morning service at Eastwood.  We had a good representation of those who attended Eastwood from Woods.  Nobody saw any red flags go up and are all in agreement to put it to a formal vote at the Business Meeting Wednesday night.  Its just a formality Wednesday night, as most of those who would attend a business meeting were there tonight.  Assuming it passes, we will announce it next Sunday morning and have our final Worship Service at Woods Baptist Church next Sunday, July 21 at 1045.  We will start meeting at Eastwood Baptist Church next Sunday, July 21 at 1700 for Discipleship Training and 1800 for the Evening Worship Service.

We've got 3-6 months of finances left, but we want to go now before we do go broke.  Part of the business meeting will be to decide what to do with the funds that the church has and will generate from the sale of the property.  We've got proposals that we want to lay before the congregation, so we'll see what the will of the congregation is.
