In S.C outside of Charlotte for Christmas, very wet one.  On Long Island, had a white Christmas in a sense, with snow being on the ground from last weekend, but didn't snow on Christmas.  Most of that snow, if not all of it is probably gone now since it was 50 with a ton of rain tonight.

Yup.  All gone now.

We had soaking rain from Christmas Eve through Christmas Day, with temps hovering around 1 C. However it wasn't enough to wash away the snow that had accumulated over the preceding week, though by 10 pm the snow cover was getting thin in spots.

That's all changed now. A storm that was supposed to bring a couple of inches of snow yesterday left about a foot instead. It should stay white here for a while.

Nope - thankfully never have.  That would suck big time, having to stay cooped up in the house all day instead of going to see family.

Perhaps in Mississippi a snowfall on Christmas would do that where people aren't used to snow.  Not here.  Just take it easy on the roads and it's a breeze.

Yeah, if it snows down here, the city is shut down, since nobody has snow tires or any experience driving on snow or ice.
Schools are automatically closed down with any accumulation of snow, period, for safety reasons.

Yes, there was already snow on the ground. It started raining in the middle of the day on Christmas Eve which continued on until night on Christmas Day. At night in transformed to snow and then snowed the entire night and next day. So we had over 48 hours of continuous precipitation. Tongue

We had 14.1" of snow on Christmas Eve, though no snow falling Christmas Day, but that's still considered a White Christmas considering there was still snow on the ground on Christmas Day.

It did not snow on the 25th, but there was and still is significant snow accumulation. Which is to be expected, it is the True North, strong and free after all.
