If Obama was white, he would never become President in 2008. While his candidacy attracted a lot of racist backlash, him being an African American was also an important part of his appeal.

And yes, any Democratic President would've been receiving the same mount of crap from the GOP.

Yes. I know most posters don't remember the Clinton years (or even the Bush years in some cases), but bitter rhetoric about an opposite party president has been a tradition for quite sometime now.
