Needs to be laughed at, not considered scholarly.

Not gotta lie, the fact the international committee for the Fourth international led the vanguard on the issue is pretty funny.

And of course, Nikole Hannah-Jones responds to distinguished historians like James McPherson by saying “well obviously white men don’t understand.”

Present-day cultural-political-media crusades strike at the tender, defenseless heart of History again. How painfully American (paging Al).

Culturally Marxist propaganda.  Yankee, Averroes, PR, Orser, mr reactionary and Kingpoleon are basically right on the mark.

The narrative espoused by Ida Bae Wells that modern curriculum basically whitewashes slavery at best, is quite frankly laughable.  Or would be, if this mindset wasn't so wildly powerful in society.

Also, although slavery is a deep, integral part of US history, it certainly isn't unique to us- we inherited from the British colonies of South Carolina, Tidewater and Maryland. Britain, Spain, Portugal and France all had similar practices in the Caribbean and South America, and the Islamic empires enslaved millions of Europeans and Africans.  Singling out the United States is just illogical.
