Longtime Mississippi Senator from 1989 to 2007, rose up the GOP ranks to be GOP Senate Leader from 1996 to 2002.

Made comments about how Thurmond winning in 1948 would have changed America for the better.

On racial issues, clearly HP.

There is one issue where he’s FF: passenger rail. He once defended their dining/cafe cars by stating that Congress shouldn’t “mess with people’s stomachs” if it wanted to keep Amtrak running.
