Ironically the top 2 primary makes it much harder to get rid of her if she won't go willingly. She could become "moderate candidate" and put together a coalition of R's and moderate D's, like how all those progressive ballot initiatives were defeated.

Agreed, but I don’t think we’ll have to worry about her running again

Well given her long time colleague Barbara Boxer they objected in a far more decisive result she really can’t hold another position

I wouldn’t say 2004 was far more decisive than this year. I do think Boxer was out of line but there were actual concerns, unlike this year when there was literally nothing.
