Why not?

1) because the independence plank is something left over from before AK became a state.
2) Palin has never advocated secession (that we know of)
3) Palin is no longer a member
4) AK is basically a libertarian state, so this is nothing out of the ordinary

Except for the infiltration tape that just surfaced from the party's chair.

But we ALL "infiltrate" our political party in order to use it as a vehicle to promote the changes we think are needed. 

Most of all, has Palin done anything as Governor to promote AK political independence?  That's the question.
