so basically the gop supermajority called a surprise education committee meeting during today's house lunch break (with the mics on the floor off) to revive a don't say gay bill that had been dormant for a month and in a thirty minute session amended it to include the provisions of another omnibus anti-trans bill (a gender-affirming care ban--including forced detransitioning for youth already receiving care, bathroom bill, pronoun policing and more rolled into one) that had been considered by the senate yesterday but didn't pass. then the house and senate both moved to pass the new bill immediately. today was the last day to pass bills before the veto period.
