Wait- What's your problem with Rush?

In any case, while obviously they're far inferior to the United States, so is every other country, so that's not a real measuring stick. Relative to other countries, they get high marks. After all, they're in North America, have lots of land and woods, a climate that looks  more and more appealing as we head into summer, lumberjacks, Labatt's Blue, and a modern rock radio station that I listen to. In fact, they out-Americaed America in regards to drinking age. Freedom Country.

We have a decent music scene, especially the artists that are less well known. We like to send our most annoying people to the US to be with their "kind".

I'm not as patriotic as I used to be (thanks, Stephen Harper), but I would not live anywhere else.

To the names already mentioned, I would add The New Pornographers. Canada has produced a really impressive variety of rock, pop, and folk musicians. I don't know why anyone would choose to focus only on the ones who they don't like.
