According to the Atlas numbers, Nixon took Cook County with 53.4% of the vote in his landslide 1972 re-election(he won Illinois with 59%).

Since Cook County also contains many suburbs of Chicago that skew the vote slightly more Republican, can anyone find out if Nixon also carried the city of Chicago itself? My gut feeling is the city narrowly voted McGovern.
