Why did Hegar and Bell have a strong performance in rural counties?
Bell likely won a lot of those areas due to name rec alone.... he was on the ballot 12 years ago, so a lot of older democrats likely remember him.

News websites made an error in the GOP primary, accidentally reporting that Cornyn got 95 votes in San Saba. He actually got 959. Cornyn won every county. What will the Denocratic runoff look like? Who will the primary losers endorse?
Bell already endorsed Royce. Considering the fact that Royce essentially only made it into the runoff by maxing out his vote in the Dallas area, while Hegar had far more general appeal, I would give her a significant edge. Not to mention the fact that most of the runner-ups were progressives, to whom Hegar has more appeal.
