You are all making the mistake of assuming that if there were wiretaps, they were legal and court approved.

Trump should have the balls to do an investigation and provide the evidence that he was illegally wiretapped. Instead he sounds like a wounded person tweeting out empty accusations and empty threats.

Quite right. When James Rosen was spied on, when mass spying on US citizens was ordered Obama White House officials never gave the order for that to happen. As a matter of procedure they would have asked DOJ officials to find a suitably complaint judge (i.e. most of them) to authorise it and then to order it to go ahead.

I'm not super familiar with the mechanisms that have been used for leaks, but isn't there only so much you can do within the White House itself? What's to stop a staffer going home and e-mailing someone in the press with their home computer?
