The YouGov poll also gives Biden a 6% lead, which suggests the Trump bounce is real.

Interestingly though the same YouGov poll also gives the Democrats an 11% lead in the Generic Ballot at 49-38% which is an increase of the 8% lead at 47-39% in the poll taken from August 23-25.

Of course, that is within the margin of error, but this is one of the few times a poll has given the generic U.S House Democrats a larger lead than Biden's.

1. Don't assume based on two polls within 40 hours of the RNC

2. Don't assume this "bounce" will stick:

I didn't.  I know that polls are a snapshot in time.  I think it is a reasonable conclusion, based on two polls that Trump has had a bounce in support.

Atlas is incapable of not overreacting. That said, some people here need to learn the difference between Biden being favored and the election being over. If Democrats are more likely to go the extra mile and tell their friends/family to vote if they’re worried that Trump might win, I want them thinking that Trump might win.

It's August, the dumbest month. Even the Olympics, which normally provide a reprieve from punditry during the dumbest period of the year, were canceled; people should be talking about, like, what some oxygen-starved idiot swimmer did in a gas station, but this is all there is left.

People have to make up big shifts in the race, because the real story-Biden is solidly up big-is boring. However, like Biden's overall candidacy, boring is fine by me.
