No. The case for a pardon is simply too weak to justify overruling the court's verdict. There's no case.

I would name Central Park after the Central Park Five...somehow. Divide it up into five, I guess?

Absolutely not. Even if Hochul wanted to, the time to do so has far passed.

The notion of a pardon is silly anyways, because Nixon at least earned it by choosing to resign and ended his political career. Even if being impeached and removed was a foregone conclusion, he at least faced the music and spared the country from that process.

There's every notion that Trump will weaponize the Justice Department regardless of whatever action leaders take, including a pardon. It's ridiculous to assume that Trump would somehow pull back on his rhetoric just because someone showed him leniency. That's not how he operates.

Trump hasn't done a single thing to deserve a pardon.

Nah. Probably I'd make some big press conference and leak to the media that I was going to pardon Trump and then pardon Eric for any state crimes he may have committed in the period of 1984 to 2002, just for the fun of it and to, you know, offer an olive branch to the family.

I'd pardon him for one random count and leave the other 33 in tact. Count 17 was a corrupt railroading, everything else is legitimate

Nah (sane)

The only unfortunate thing about his conviction is that it hasn't happened way early. Trump for decades was into shady businesses, defrauded partners, banks and the public, lied, cheated and deflected. He never was truly paid a penalty for his wrongdoings and it's long past time he finally starts to do so.

Of course not.

Then you would have to pardon anyone else with similar convictions as well. Just because of his name he hasn't earned a pardon at all.

How about renaming it Convicted Felon Donald Trump Park.

Also, maybe LaGuardia should become Convicted Felon Donald Trump Airport.

And for that matter, Republicans a while back wanted to rename Reagan National Airport in DC to Trump National Airport. So the next time there's a Democratic trifecta, let's go with Convicted Felon Donald Trump National Airport. Has a nice ring to it.

Hochul's re-election chances are already low. Pardoning Trump would be the death knell.
