I wound up in two semi-long term relationships off Grindr, if that counts. Stranger things have happened between two people with really rad chemistry.

I've had one real-life sexual encounter due to internet media.  it technically wasn't a dating site per se but people do use the site to find sexual partners.

oh, yeah, I like Twitter too

Why are people surprised Ilikeverin is gay? He's stated so in several threads, and it's not like it's an unusual thing on here...

When you've been a member since 2003, and you don't mention anything about that until 2013, it might be considered reasonably surprising.  Especially when you spent quite a bit of time unashamedly discussing how attractive you found Jennifer Garner for the first couple of years posting here.  There was also the matter of Hot Asian Girl.  But I hope no one ever thought my entertainment about her existence was at all sexual.

Actually, though, though opebo's confusion makes sense to me, why on earth new posters would be surprised is a little weird.  Oh well!  I was confused once, too.  Why I didn't seek out help from one of the most LGBT-friendly-but-not-annoying online forums I know of (and the many friendly gays here) is completely beyond me.

For old time's sake:

There are so many things wrong with this thread. And I am going to take the time to go through and call them all out.

Didn't you claim you were asexual?

What the hell? I asked if anyone had tried it.

I am, but I'm still looking for a relationship. It's not like I can't perform sex for someone else's benefit, even if I myself am not enjoying it. I'll admit it's a sensitive topic.
WTF?
1. How are you asexual?

I don't experience sexual attraction.

Online dating is mainstream now? What're y'all using? Like match.com?

Online dating is mainstream now?

It has been for at least a year in my circles, although I'm not really a fan.

okcupid

I don't know if it's mainstream, but most people I know (who aren't in long-term relationships at least) have at least tried it once, though a lot of people are embarrassed to admit it.

Lots of people I know have done it so at least in Sweden I think it's unstigmatized. I have not tried myself though and I can't say I know of any really successful outcomes stemming from it.
