Not what you were doing that year, but rather what the world was like.

Neither year was particularly bad for me personally, but any year during the Bush administration was a bad year for the world. So 1998 wins by default. I guess that means I get to experience my sister's birth all over again.

2004.

I'm actually a big fan of the early 2000s for the most part, obviously outside of 9/11.  This applies to numerous areas of culture, not just politics (though politics were much better too then).  For example, I love competition TV shows, and those were every other show on TV back then (now we only have Survivor, The Amazing Race, and a bunch that are so trashy they're not even worth watching).  Also, as a bigger guy, the baggier fitting clothes would have been great.

1998. I’d love to relive the carefree days of pre-school and kindergarten at the hippie school my parents sent me to.

2004 was kinda bleh. The first half of the year was fifth grade. My fifth grade teacher was an idiot who didn’t teach us anything.

1998, because the 90s are better than the 2000s. I actually remember 1998, it was the first year I went to school.

The 2019 pre-therapy version of me meeting the 1998 pre-my-mother's-therapy version of my father would be kind of "interesting", to say the least.

The fact that he has mellowed a bit in recent years was sometimes a disappointing experience for me since it eliminated a "pretext" for really confronting him over some things.
