Going to an underground punk show in Oakland next Saturday, lmao.

One of my friends is performing, but it's still not something I normally do.

*facepalm* In a few months you'll be lecturing us on what real emo is.

Assuming a disaster doesn't cause my team to get transferred, the plan after a week in MS for trainimg will be a July-October warehouse project in Fort Worth, TX. Looks like I'll be getting forklift certified. Cool

The US travel map as it stands. I expect to add a lot to it between now and next April.

30% Blue: Only drove through
40% Blue: Stay of at least one night
50% Blue: At least one stay of multiple nights, or multiple one-night stays
70% Blue: Multiple multi-nighy stays
90% Blue: Extended (multi-month) stays

Utah is the greatest winter sports destination in the US by far.

I don't have much interest in the "developed world". Anything they have, the United States likely has better to see besides history. I am more of a nature tourist anyway.
Your map does not say nature tourist at all, nor does it have any coherent logic other than liking Latin America.

The only good thing there is to see in the US is nature. Anything built by humans in the US is terrible.

Skipping Belgium, I approve, but Austria is literally the best country... (the people are definitely not)

Good to be back in the country again, where prices are cheaper.

You traveled to the wrong places then. I go almost exclusively to post-Second World states or to a certain Middle Eastern country with an inflation problem.
Even Germany is pretty cheap outside maybe Munich. There is a line between charming poor and uncomfortable poor, though - which is why I love Europoor countries like the V4 but have no interest in places like the Philippines or Vietnam.

Honestly contemplating purchasing a one way ticket to Nepal, Laos, Vietnam or the Leh region of India. I just cannot do the 9 to 5 life and live a normal pointless suburban life. How do people do this day and day again? The only reason I even picked those regions is that I could live off the monthly interest in my brokerage account. Just cannot fathom another month of this nonsense

Amen, brother. Not a day goes by when I don't have this thought. I cannot believe suburbs are legal, or how anyone could find them to be a worthwhile existence. Hope you start living the dream and I can join you in a couple years.

RIP Suburbia.

Years ago I used to regularly watch Al Jazeera because the breadth of their news coverage is simply unparalleled by any other agency. AJ was literally the only network that covered things like the conflict in the Central African Republic in any depth (aside from some token reporting on the BBC). I always knew it was Qatari state media, but embarrassingly never twigged on until recently that it really is just blatant Islamist propaganda. I refuse to watch it any longer, but unfortunately I can't find any other news service that matches AJ in the scope of their reporting. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You were surprised that the country that harbors and aids Hamas promotes extremist propaganda?

Qatar is a great country. US soldiers love spending time there.

Yesterday I was casually walking by the harbour and ended up finding myself within a few metres of Matteo Salvini, who was in an open-air bar presenting his new book - lol - in front of a small crowd.

I would've saluted him.
