The two offices in Illinois should be merged. But it is halirious that Democrats have to battle tooth and nail to the end to win IL-Treasurer in 2014 and lost IL-Comptroller. They won it in a special election in 2016 depending heavily on Cook County.

Now in 2018 both offices are rated as Solid Dem.

But no I would not want to be in either office.

It's odd to me that they're both up for re-election at the same time.  I'm used to the Missouri system where the auditor is elected two years after all the other statewide offices.  I guess the writers of the current constitution wanted the auditor as independent as possible.  I took it for granted that other states would operate the same way.
