Technically speaking, Pence won.  But as horrid as Tim Kaine was, he managed to keep the debate squarely focused on the question of the Trump's viability as President.  Pence spent the night defending Trump, Kaine spent the night breaking him down.  It doesn't matter that Kaine scored very few rhetorical points.  A debate on Trump's plausibility is a debate the Trump campaign can ill afford.

Tactical Pence victory.  Strategic Kaine victory.

Clinton, but it might not make a difference. 

Pence, and considering both presidential nominees are old, it might make a difference.
