What's your opinion of new leader of the German CDU and Minister-President of North Rhine Westphania? He could potentially become Merkel's successor.

We have some differences, but I actually like him for being a moderate and actually a nice person. Freedom fighter.

No, i mean i don't really have an opinion, but his background doesn't sound promising. He seems boring and lacklustering, and will fuel extremism. Until indeed he might prove otherwise (it's not about innocent vs guilty). If there was a neutral option, i would go for that, but we're forced to choose.

I understand. In those cases I just don't vote or say anything... some people here disagree but I generally find the "Neutral" option a good thing.

Well, he's about as inspiring as Lincoln Chafee and as charismatic as Amy Klobuchar.
His performance as Governor of NRW has been mixed so far, so I'd really opt for the non-existing "neutral" option.

Basically this.

Laschet is a bit of an empty suit. Inoffensive, but otherwise also unremarkable.

Funny story, in 2015, he had to resign from his position as assistant professor for law because he basically did just that: Because he had somehow lost the exam he was supposed to correct, he basically gave every student a random grade, which was only discovered after some students stated that they had received grades even though they had not participated in this exam, and which, to me, shows what a clown he is.

Neutral, but I'm fine with him becoming Chancellor.

It's time for a change (Merkel being Chancellor 16 years is more than enough), and even if he is politically similar to Merkel, at least it's a change, and there's a new Chancellor.

I doubt know much of anything about him. From what I've seen and heard though, my opinion is "meh".
