What are your opinions of him as the governor of NH?

I'd have voted for him if I lived in NH, but I'd say he's fairly neutral. He's a near inverse of my personal views outside of certain social issues, but I still voted "FF" as he has governed in a pragmatic and fair manner.

Slim FG, I guess. Still would have gone Dem in his elections though.

New England, I am begging you to stop electing these fake crappy "moderate" Republican governors.

I wouldn't vote for him, but I'd take him over Greg Abbott.  Then again, I'd take a dead pig over Greg Abbott.

HP.

Annoying fake moderate. He's still "better" than most Republican officeholders, but that has become an incredibly low bar.

Yeah I think Phil Scott is maybe the only Republican in America that I would ever consider voting for. Or at least the only Republican that would make me feel comfortable enough to vote for a 3rd party candidate.

Anyone who thought he was a moderate was a f**king idiot. Sununu reminds me a lot of the OSR-type #NeverTrumpers - fine with Trumpism, but ultimately not fine with Trump because he wasn't a part of The Swamp.

There’s too many centrist Dem leaners who get high off of feeling “above the fray,” so they’ll vote for a fake moderate Republican to prove that they’re not partisan

I'm surprised that he managed to retain so much crossover appeal during his gubernatorial runs, although I'm sure that the lion's share of said crossover appeal would vanish should he run for higher office (which is why I believe he would not have been favored against either Jeanne Shaheen or Maggie Hassan). Nonetheless, I would have voted for his Democratic opponent in each of the elections he's actually been on the ballot.

I agree with all this except that you can’t even call Sununu a #NeverTrumper so he’s more like Bill Barr or Mitch “I support the nominee” McConnell.

I guess that's only because NH is much more competitive and moderate than other New England state. I doubt Sununu could have been elected in VT, MA or CT. Maybe latter in 2018, but may have lost after a term. The brand of "small govt conservative with culturally moderate views" still seems to have some appeal there.
