Very interesting scenario.

With already a political Senate experience and his own popularity, Cronkite surely would be much more cormadible against Nixon than McGovern even hoped to be.

Btw, did you know that Tom Brokaw was considered as possible Kerry running-mate in 2004?

Are we showing a litte biasis Gio lol, Eventhough it's still Nixon the political Genuis, the former voice of America would probably win a comfortable victory, as you can see from the '72 Congressional Reults, you can see that although Nixon was Popular the GOP really wasn't.

Nobody defeats Nixon in 1972, absolutely nobody.

It is Democratic hackery shifted into high gear to believe any Democrat would have defeated him in 1972.

Nixon enjoyed widespread and deep support in the nation in 1972, ahead of his party.

Well, Nixon fan that I am, Nixon was unbeatable in part due to the..um 'events' that later brought about his own downfall.
