Sorry Hash. He could have been a Saint, but he has nothing to do here anymore.

Pleven is out.

Remaining leaders are:

28.   Léon Blum (1936-1937, 1938, 1946-1947)
32.   Charles de Gaulle (1944-1946, 1958, President 1958-1969)
44.   Pierre Mendès France (1954-1955)

Italicized leaders have received votes.

Well, De Gaulle.

Sorry, fab. I have much respect for this outstanding statesman, his integrity and his devotion for his country. But the way he went to the power in 1958 is shameful. The principle of democracy shall not be infringed, whatever the circumstances are, and De Gaulle benefitted to the events to impose a political system which revealed to be dangerous when less devoted persons went to the power. Désolé, Général. It's fair you stayed until now, but now your turn has come.

Mendès France. Let's not be ridiculous here.

FWIW, I had and have no intentions of voting for the General, unless it is solely him and Blum. I will have to consider my vote carefully then.

The general was more important than both of them combined, Kalwejt.

It's a pity, because, without Blum, all the social achievements would have been done anyway in 1945.

PMF and de Gaulle, on the other hand, were REALLY 2 absolutely different views of France, of politics, of institutions, and both of them very interesting.

PMF and de Gaulle, this is the great opposition of the 2nd half of the 20th century.

Blum is a myth, also, but not a big one in French history: he isn't even representative of the French left's history...

You should stop to see life in left/right, black/white....

I'm tempted to boycott the final but will never let Blum win over Mendès.

Sure, Xahar...

I'm just talking about relative historical importance.
Blum - de Gaulle.
Blum - PMF.

Ugh. What an awful, ridiculous partisan runoff. Fuck it, man.

Damn, we could have had a classic final between Général de Gaulle & PMF.

     Keep Pierre Mendès France
