I did this map sometimes ago, representing the Electoral College structure in the 2030-2040 years. The shades doesn't indicate percentages, but the closeness of the state ( light=leaning, average=solid, dark=safe ). This map is in a situation of toss-up election, so you should correct it if you plan to make it a democratic or republican victory.

i was going to make it a runaway democratic landslide, with the 3rd party getting more votes than the republicans, but this tempers me. i'm also trying to find the number of electoral votes per state, as democraphics will change it immensly,
thanks, and i'll utilize this

I can't really help you on this domain. Though I have a certain idea of the last 50 years demographic trends, it's hard to say precisely what they will be in 2040. I see VA, NC, SC, GA, TX, AZ, CO, UT, NV, WA and OR gaigning at least one more seat, and NY, PA, OH, MI, IL and CA losing at least one.

By 2040 I expect to be the senator of New York

Hope to see you in politics! I want to be Governor of the best state (New York)

LOL

A ridiculous ultraconservative like you has no chance outside UT, WY, ID, OK and AL.

Who said I'm going to last more then one term?

You're right : having you as Senator for six years, that's enough !

I think I'm right about WV and AZ.

WV has been trending republican for two decades, and is now almost unwinnable for dems.

Why is california not more competetive?

Republican's right-wing shift has made it trend continuously toward democrats since 1984. Unless this changes, I see no reason for California getting closer, especially with the whole western States shift toward democrats.

Ugh yeah, I feel pretty embarrassed. Tongue At the very least, Arizona and Michigan should be reversed.

...and 2 years later, Michigan actually goes to the GOP while AZ becomes a swing State.

Let this be a lesson. Never. Make. Predictions.
