In presidential elections, not really.  I mean, I was a Republican when I voted for H.W. Bush in 1988.  I did vote for Ross Perot in 1992 and dearly wish I could have that one back.

In the Senate, I often find myself voting for Richard Lugar.  I really disagree with him on a lot of issues but I admire his work to account for and eliminate loose nukes...an issue I think requires much more attention.  Too, he has had few credible Democratic opponents.

I know it's not part of the original question, but I was a huge fan of Fort Wayne's four-term Republican Mayor, Paul Helmke.

When I first came of voting age I voted for Brad Henry (D) to be re-elected (he won re-election by a landslide, imagine that a moderate Democrat winning 66% of the vote in bat crazy Oklahoma) as governor.

I almost voted for Bill Wortman until I found out about his endorsement of "volunatary racial separation", so I voted for Alan Gentges (D) for US Representative.

So yeah my first time voting I voted for two Democrats.

Second time around I voted for Andrew Rice (hey the other choice was Jim Inhofe) for US Senate.
I voted for whoever the Democrats had running against John Sullivan for US House.
I made a cringe vote for Obama (hey the ballot access laws here suck). I didn't like it, but it was a better vote than "bomb Iran" McCain (I guess you could call it the "Goldwater Effect").

So yeah, I've been voting for a different party ever since I got registered to vote. Maybe if the ballot laws were fairer here, maybe I wouldn't have to stoop to voting Democrat.

Have never voted for a non-Democrat in a partisan election.

I'm generally a right-winger in France and I would vote to re-elect Jean-Yves Le Drian (Socialist) as Regional President of Bretagne in 2010 just because he's done a superb job fighting for Breton interests, culture, language and reunification. And because his opponent is an old Chiraco-Villepiniste, a true Jacobin, and a traitor to Bretagne like du Guesclin was in his day.

I would have a hard time voting for somebody other than a Liberal in Canada not because I'm a partisan hack, but just because the other parties are either a) Nazis b) whinocratic socialists c) petty little Anglophobes d) a party led by a stupid crazy lady and candidates who buy into 9/11 revisionism.

Plenty of nameless GOP over namless Dems in local races.  Because in local government, competency in administrative tasks is a gazillion times more important than supporting the Iraq War or national public healthcare.

On the nationally important level:

1) I voted for the Democrat running against John Petersen in 2006, but damned if I can remember his name.

2) I voted for Rendell in 2006... Swann truly was that poor of a choice for governor.

Here's my full list  Sad

As a Democrat (2000-2006)  Sad

George W. Bush in 2000 + 2004
Richard Burr in 2004
George Pataki in 2002
and alot more Republicans

Funny thing was I was liberal when I was a democrat. I was like Ben Constine pretty much. I got into politics mainly in 2004.

As a independent (2006-2007)

Joe Lieberman in 2006
All republicans
Eliot Spitzer in 2006
Hillary Clinton in 2006
Bobby Jindal in 2007

As a republican (2007-Current) Sad

I would vote for Zell Miller if I had the chance
Mark Warner in 2008 senate race
The guy who ran against Don Young
Mark Begich
Hillary Clinton in the Dem Primaries

Who I plan to vote for against party lines

Alaska U.S House seat if Don Young is GOP Nominee
Mike Bloomberg
Arthur Davis (If Roy Moore is the GOP Nominee)
Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin for Governor when ever she runs (Unless the lt. gov of SD runs)

These are of course "Would of's " as i'm only 14

Yes.

That's because the Atlas Forum is now available on Nintendo DS.
