Iraq terrorists

Were there terrorists in Iraq before we went there? We know they were in Iran, Afghanistan, Lybia, Sudan, Somalia and Florida. Interesting.

Yes, Iraq had terrorists operating within the border prior to the US returning to finish the job in 2003. Ansar al-Islam operated in the non-Kurdish Northern Iraq and on the Western boarder for years. Another group (which name I can't recall at the moment) operated just south of Baghdad for only a few years before moving on or disbanding.
