% of EV's coming from ex-Confederacy

1988:

Dukakis: 0%
Bush: 32.4%

1992:

Clinton: 13.2%
Bush: 64.3%

1996:

Clinton: 16.1%
Dole: 60.4%

2000:

Gore: 0%
Bush: 57.9%

2004:

Kerry: 0%
Bush: 53.5%

2008:

Obama: 15.1%
McCain: 56.6%


I would have thought that the GOP was becoming more dependent on the ex-Confederacy, though the above list doesn't reflect that.
