Romney lives in NH, Utah, and Mass. Even though he was governor of Mass, could he still run in another state?

Not if it distracted too much from his gubernatorial campaign in Michigan and senate campaign in Nevada

Unless he decides to actually run for office here in Ohio next year, which would seem to be a possibility at this stage, I've now decided who my write-in votes will be for.

Come on, we all know (rather Winfield knows) that Mitt can run for and win all three at the same time...

...with one hand tied behind his back...

blindfolded.

With good reason.  It was a stupid question.

I did. Unless you were asking in the literal sense, could he legally do it, not whether he would.

The author of this thread deserves some serious answers, instead of the flippant responses received in most of the posts.

A serious answer

If Romney established actual residency in New Hampshire for the required period of time, yes, he could run for the New Hampshire Senate seat.

However, I see this as extremely unlikely.  If Obama proves to still be popular in 2010 and it turns out to be a Democratic congressional year, a state like New Hampshire could prove to be problematic for a Republican in 2010.  If Romney runs there and loses, it could be very negative for his potential run for President in 2012.  If Romney runs in New Hampshire, he would be seen to be simply running to further his Presidential aspirations.

So, in my view, no, Romney will not be running for the Senate from New Hampshire in 2010.
